The Little Guide to Getting Tied Up - Evie Vane
The Little Guide to Getting Tied Up - Evie Vane

TLDR it’s worth reading even if you’re just a rigger and never a bottom/bunny.

This is a short book only about 100 pages, and I consider that one of its strengths. They pack a lot of information in, without it dragging on.

It asks questions about what kind of rope play you might be interested in, offers up examples. And more importantly how to communicate those desires and approach them in a safer way, while still acknowledging that rope will never be entirely safe.

Things to look for in a rigger. How to prepare for a rope scene. And ways of managing pain and various sensations in rope, and possible ways to let you go deeper into those sensations.

Most chapters end with a true story section, and gives an example of how what they just talked about played out in their life.

Personally I have no interest in being a bottom, it doesn’t seem to give me the same sensations it gives others. I am however very interested in their perspective and I recommend this book for riggers as well.

I will be lending this to anyone that’s interested in tying with me.

To quote Douglas Adams “Human beings, who are almost unique in having the ability to learn from the experience of others, are also remarkable for their apparent disinclination to do so.”

Use that ability, learn from others, read the book.
