Aibunawa I Stockholm, 15-16 August 2026 Stuart & Fittglitter Aibunawa (愛撫縄, "caressing rope"), is a shibari style developed by Yukimura Haruki. It focuses on exploring the sensual and intimate aspects of shibari through floor-based practices. This style values careful attention and meaningful intention over technical Complexity. This workshop focuses on the foundational elements of aibunawa. Participants will: ● Master basic body handling movements and techniques. ● Practice common exercises and patterns specific to the aibunawa style. ● Explore deep partner connection using a single rope, covering both aisatsunawa (greeting rope) and ipponnawa (one rope). By the end of the workshop, participants will gain new skills to play with ropes while seated and explore themes like pleasure, shame, and exposure together. NOTE: This workshop may present emotional challenges for participants, personally or within the dynamic of the tying practice. Requirements: ● 5-6 ropes, 7-8 meters long, preferably 4-5mm. ● The person tying should be comfortable using a single-column tie, able to recognize the difference between a square knot and a granny knot, and know how to attach a suspension line. ● Clothing that allows the person in ropes to be partially exposed can enhance the experience for both partners - however, this might not feel comfortable for everyone in a workshop setting. Schedlue: 10-17 (with an hour lunch both days) Teachers: Stuart started exploring shibari in 2014, spending several years enthusiastically studying with various teachers. Although he gained a breadth of knowledge during this time, he struggled to define his own unique style. Eventually he concentrated first on Naka-style semenawa, before shifting focus to aibunawa. Viewing aibu and seme as energetic approaches to rope, he incorporates elements of both styles in his sessions. More information on Stuart’s ropes and teaching can be found on www.bothhands-kinbaku.com Fittglitter is a performance artist, rope educator, and organizer with a background in psychology and a general tendency to question authorities and educational systems. They value subjective teaching rooted in personal exploration and kink practice, in ways that invite others to draw their own conclusions about their practice rather than concluding that one way is better or more correct than another.Their experience comes from both top and bottom perspectives, which has resulted in a complex and creative way of understanding and holding space for emotions and for aspects of the incredible complexity of desires and difficult feelings. Their approach to teaching revolves around emotional and physical awareness, modules for thinking about risk, desire, empowerment, community, social constructions, and exploration.
