- An artist conversation between Momo Mentha and Julia Pivén. Language: English (but questions can be asked in Danish by the audience). Date: 22/03/2026 Time: 12 – 14. Doors open: at 11.45. Address: “Ovenpå,” Onkel Dannys Plads 7, 1, 1711 Copenhagen V. Link to Facebook event: https://fb.me/e/5POkRXn5I In the context of the exhibition “Monster” by Momo Mentha in ODP3, we invite you into a conversation on monsters and how monster theory inspires our artistic practices. For this event, Julia Pivén is invited as host/conversation partner; she will share a bit from her own practice as well as start the conversation in the context of Momo’s exhibition. The format is more conversation than lecture, and the audience is invited to ask questions, both about things that come up in the conversation and about the exhibition. We will start by giving a short introduction about ourselves and about what monster theory is, just so we are all on the same page, and then go into a conversation about our artistic practice and the exhibition. We recommend that everybody visit the exhibition before the talk, but it’s not a must. Be aware of the opening hours of the exhibition, as they are not necessarily “regular” gallery opening hours. Vernissage (exhibition opening) is 20/03/2026, 16 – 20. The exhibition will be open before the artist talk between 10-12. 22/2026. For this event, no prior knowledge is needed; you don’t have to know what monster theory is or have an academic background — the important thing is curiosity. The language will not be super academic, and it’s okay to ask for clarification on topics and concepts during the question part of the event. There will be coffee and tea, and the seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. No ticket needed. Notes on accessibility: Unfortunately the location for the talk is not wheelchair accessible due to stairs and no lift. - (The exhibition is wheelchair accessible, with an appointment around an accessible bathroom in a nearby cafe.) If you want to be sure to have seating due to health reasons, feel free to reach out and we will reserve a seat for you. If you have other accessibility concerns, you are also welcome to reach out. We can’t promise being able to accommodate everything, but we will do our best. Contact: momomentha@gmail.com Plan for the event: 11.45 Doors open. 12.00 – 12.15 Small introduction to monster theory and Julia Pivén. 12.15 – 13.00 Conversation. 13.00 – 13.30 Questions / open conversation. |
