Menopause is not a medical event. It is a biological transition. And in the modern Western world, it can feel like a quiet form of disappearance. Something is shifting in you, and no one is describing it in a way that feels accurate. Or hopeful. Your body feels unfamiliar. Your tolerance is shorter. Your patience thinner. Your emotions don’t move the way they used to. And beneath it all there may be a quiet question: What exactly is leaving? And what, if anything, is arriving? Many women move through menopause feeling disoriented, irritated, grieving, relieved, and unsettled at the same time. You are told it is either a problem to manage or a spiritual upgrade to celebrate. Neither description quite fits. We begin where you actually are. This gathering is for women in menopause who feel the shift clearly, but were never given language for what it means. What we will do This is a structured, guided gathering. The focus is articulation. We are holding a shared space in which you can examine what menopause is actually doing to your body, your emotional range, your tolerance, and your sense of self. You will write in response to precise prompts. You will reflect before speaking. You may share, or not. You do not need to prepare anything. You do not need to be optimistic. You do not need to “accept” anything before you arrive. We start with what is true now. The focus of the evening We explore aspects of menopause that are rarely spoken about directly: • the body that no longer responds the way it used to • the shortening of patience and tolerance • the grief that arrives without clear permission • the relief that feels complicated • the fear of losing something unnamed • the sharpening of boundaries This is not about symptom management. It is about orientation. Many women sense that something fundamental has reorganised, but were never given language for it. This gathering offers a way to slow down and name what is already happening. The Motherhole The Motherhole. The first gate. The original opening.
